Yesterday’s Awkward, Not-So-Awkward Occurrence

I met someone yesterday from tumblr, completely unplanned.

And you know what, I said it was awkward.

Thinking about it now, it wasn’t really all that awkward. Actually, the more I think about it, the more interesting it is.

It’s one thing to go about and plan to meet someone on tumblr, and it’s a completely other thing to kind of stumble across them in real life. (And by “stumble” I mean, someone who goes to my school who also has a tumblr, through which I’d met them, knew said person) and it was interesting.

I deflected with ‘awkward’ not because the situation was awkward (cuz, I don’t find meeting people awkward at all, I love meeting new people! It’s fun!) but… I felt like I was awkward. Lol. As in, “Wow… I don’t seem nearly as cool in person. Whatta bummer” and so then I was just unsure what to say  and how to interact.

The more I think about the whole thing though… how cool is that? Unplanned recognition is interesting. It puts the whole “what are the odds” thing in perspective and makes you realize that, you really could just…meet anybody. It just happens. Life has no fucks to give about who you meet and when you meet them, there’s no warning or notification, it just happens.

Life is funny like that.

Cool stuff.

Q:why do you like girls?

Anonymous

Why do you breathe? Why do you walk? Why do you love? Why do you want? Why do you need? Why do you speak? Why do you help? Why do you live? Why do you write? Why do you read?

Because I can, because it’s who I am. Because not liking girls would go against everything my mind, heart, and body tell me.

My Man-Crushes

Considering I’m a lesbian, these are my man-crushes.

By (my) definition: man-crushes are men whom I wouldn’t mind hugging for extended periods of time xD

  1. Nathan Fillion
  2. David Wright
  3. Christian Bale
  4. David Tennant
  5. Fran Kranz

This list may or may not continue passed this point. They need so many hugs.

Nobody said it was easy.: To those Christians who tell me I'm not a Christian because I am pro-choice, let me ask you this

simplycaptivating:

How is it fair or just for me to use my faith to restrict the freedom of someone else, especially if that person is not someone of my faith? The Bible does not give me the right to tell someone what they can do with their body, nor does being a Christian.

I personally could not get an abortion, but I couldn’t care less if someone did. You know why? Because it is their body, their choice, and I have NO right to judge or condemn  or try to take that right away from them.

And anyways, why do most Christians seem to think that everyone who is getting an abortion is a whore or someone who just had unprotected sex and is trying to “run away from the consequences”? Why can’t you all see that there are so many reasons for abortions? How about when there is something wrong with the development of the child and it is going to end up killing the child and mother? Why should the mother have to die for something she didn’t cause? Or, how about rape victims? I can foresee the answer of that: adoption. The “cure-all” for unwanted babies. But, what about the thousands of kids who do not get adopted every year? Those who have to grow up in an orphanage (or whatever we call them now, because someone recently told me that they aren’t called orphanages). Is that really a life? Or should the women have to live being reminded everyday of just how awful the men in society can be sometimes? What is she to tell the child when he or she starts to ask about his or her father?

Taking someone’s choice away is really similar to shoving your faith down someone’s throat. What are you trying to prove? What you are doing is making more and more people be disgusted by what Christianity has become. If you don’t like abortion, don’t get one. The same goes for gay marriage. What I can’t understand is when being a Christian started to mean that apparently we believe we can use our faith to control the bodies of others and tell them who they can and can not love. And, it disgusts me.

If you read all this, kudos. It is longer than I expected. And if you are wondering where this came from, it is a product of my rage and disgust at the pro-life exhibit going on campus today, equating abortion to genocide and the Holocaust, through the use of very disturbing images and very wrong information.

^This.

I’d also like to add that a point to the “put the child up for adoption” point— Most adoption agencies say homosexual couples can’t adopt because of the agency’s religious beliefs. THIS stops children from being adopted.

Thank god real life isn’t like the L Word

Dear god…

I watched the first season ages ago and just started watching it again, and I’ve realized how much I hate at least half the cast.

The following reasons:

  • Inability to remain faithful
  • Fake people
  • Excessive cheating
  • Disregard of other’s feelings

I mean……COMEON.

How hard is it for someone to just stay with one person without fucking up? -.-
