I have CAH:
I have Congential Adrenal Hyperplasia.
I post this to prove a point to this group I’m a part of on Facebook. They have their group secret so that no one can find the group. They say that making the group even just searchable ruins people’s privacy. However, making the group searchable does not reveal who is in the group. It just means that people who want to find the group that may ALSO have the same condition, can find it and request to join.
The request can be accepted or rejected by the admin to prevent spam and the like. However… they prefer to keep it “word of mouth” and force people to have to know someone with CAH to join.
Funny, I was sent a request because the person told me “I figured you had CAH”. What the fuck?
The point i’m proving is this: so what if someone knows about my medical condition? So what. Yeah, I’m sensitive about it, yeah it sucks, yeah there are some really awkward things about it.
But you know what? You want to judge me for it or look into stereotypes and assume things about me because of it? That’s your prerogative. I have a girlfriend who is beyond being hurtful and means the world to me. Thus, anything negative you think, is completely irrelevant.
